About the Artist
Summer Martens is an artist from the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. When she’s not drawing or painting, she’s out exploring hiking trails, swimming in the lakes, or snuggling her big, fluffy, orange cat, Harry.
She has loved art since she could hold a crayon. Over the years, her style has grown and evolved, with a strong focus on realism. 2020 was a turning point in her art journey. During the COVID lockdowns — still in high school — Summer dedicated all of quarantine to honing her skills. Her piece “Davy Jones” from that time marked the beginning of her career in realism.
Today, Summer accepts custom commissions, sells original artwork, and is eager to grow within the Okanagan art community. She has exciting things coming soon, including prints, stickers, and a very special project — her first colouring book, inspired by the natural beauty of the world around her.
